The Brighter Side of Life

Welcome to the Bright Side

Hello to all of my friends in this big virtual space! I hope you are staying well, and sane, in this crazy world of COVID-19. This morning’s news is very disheartening, and each day it seems to be more so.

I know I said this the other day, but our world is changing so very quickly, and clearly, we have so much more of this pandemic ahead of us. This week alone has seen many of us put on Stay At Home Orders, being laid off or furloughed from our jobs, some have begun working at home, and oh so many of you have had to start homeschooling. We all face so many challenges, young and old alike.

A couple of days ago I woke up to the song The Bright Side of Life from the Monty Python movie, Life of Brian going through my head! No judging, please! I am, in fact, not a big fan of Monty Python, however, my British husband, now a US Citizen, is. And what does that mean? It means I have been subjected to their movies many times. This is the verse that is stuck in my head:

If life seems jolly rotten
There’s something you’ve forgotten
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing
When you’re feeling in the dumps
Don’t be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle, that’s the thing
And

Always look on the bright side of life
(Come on)
Always look on the right side of life

It made me think about our current situation. I feel strongly about a couple of things. First is that God, the Universe, Mother Nature, whomever you choose to blame for this situation, has hit the pause button and pointed out that we need to slow down, look at where we are, what we are doing and regroup! We hear a lot of disheartening news and uncertainty right now but guess what. We need to look at this as a time to decide what really matters and make those things priorities.

Second, is that we really should Look At The Bright Side of Life! The doom and gloom be damned, WE choose how WE handle this situation. There is so much to say about how we can get through this, but I honestly believe we need to at least, at some point during our day LAUGH, SMILE, SING, DANCE, BE SILLY, JOYOUS, just ENJOY LIFE!

With that in mind, I have created a Facebook Page where we can share something positive or fun so we can spread some SMILES with each other and this world.

Are you in? If so please come over and ask to join, invite your friends and let’s spread some happiness!
